MTFJ Buller contacted Kimberley about facilitating a workshop for 4 young ladies – 3 NEETS and 1 disengaged High School pupil, all had been working with the Buller REAP Youth Team.
3 days of fun, empowerment and learning followed, giving each client an understanding of a career in the beauty industry, along with the skills to gain self-worth and confidence with themselves.
We would certainly love to have the opportunity to work with Kimberley again.

When first speaking to Kimberley I could hear her passion and care for Youth and was excited to speak to someone so like minded. She had great communication, organisation and made the whole process of her coming here so easy. The excitement of coming to visit us in Kaikoura and the chance to meet some of our Rangatahi was prominent.
When she arrived our group warmed to her nature immediately, the course was extremely beneficial for every single one of these young people in different ways. The Rangatahi being open to the opportunity of running their own business, giving them confidence and skills, learning to follow instructions, the importance of health and safety, and of course how to successfully apply false lashes correctly and tint/shape eyebrows to a high standard – a lot of this was also learning about respect in close personal spaces and user responsibility.
Kimberley was relatable with our youth and not only did she deliver quality training with take home kits, she worked with them on how important it is to look after their own mental health and wellbeing by taking them on a Gratitude walk (team building!) and making them aware that often this type of work is a place for someone to relax so it is Important to have a safe welcoming place to be and to look after yourself too.
We are hoping to have her back in Kaikoura as we know there is so much more she can offer our Rangatahi.
I can’t recommend her enough and would be happy to talk to anyone looking at having Kimberley in their space.

I did a lash & eyebrow course with Kimberley in October last year. It was the best thing I have done and was lucky enough to be able to do it. My thoughts on the whole thing is that it’s a beautiful skill to be able to learn to be a part of the beauty industry. I recommend everyone that can do the course should do it. Kimberly is a beautiful lady and is willing to help everyone that she can no matter what. The skills that I got out of doing this course was unbelievable. I can now do lashes, I can do eyebrows. I now can keep getting better and make myself a small business in the beauty industry.
This course is a game changer. It is the most rewarding thing to do, Kimberley, you help so many people in the beauty industry.
I recommend this course 100%. It was so valuable I’m so thankful I got to do it.
Thank you.

This course has taken me out of my comfort zone, I have done things I would not normally do. I have learnt that stepping out of my comfort zone makes me feel good afterwards.
Kimberley was the best tutor, she was very supportive and understanding and she made coming to the course so much fun.
From this course I have learnt I can do anything I put my mind to and anything is possible if I push myself.

LOVED IT!
I don’t want it to end, and I feel so grateful for the amount of opportunities given to me for being here. I feel so special being in your life and you are honestly one of the most amazing, caring and supportive people I have ever met. There was definitely a good mix of hands on and theory work and I felt like I was being pushed to do more which I liked. I ended up succeeding more than I thought I would.

Last year I did a beginner lash course and mentoring through Kim, I knew absolutely nothing about lash extensions. Kim taught me pretty much everything about lashes, natural lashes and lash extensions. I’m not the best at English and I thought that was going to be a problem, but not for Kim,
no matter how many questions I had, no matter how many times I asked “what does that mean” she always answered with a smile on her face.
She was so fun to work with. She shared her story with us about how she had a new born baby, didn’t have heaps of money and doing lashes from home made me feel like if she made it possible, so can I. Lashes will definitely always be something that I’ll continue doing. My favourite part of the course was definitely watching everyone get along, overall it was an amazing experience.
